About Community Housing and Shelter Services (CHSS)
Community Housing and Shelter Services was founded in 1981. CHSS has over 40 years experience administering supportive housing programs with City and County local funds, which provides assistance to households experiencing homeless as they transition into permanent housing.
Our staff has a combined 45 years of providing supportive services, knowledge of the eligibility requirements and are very adept at providing exemplary case management for our clients.
CHSS has an active Board of Directors who are responsible for overseeing the organization's activities. Board members meet monthly to discuss and vote on the affairs of the organization.
Making a difference in our Community
If you have 5 minutes we encourage you to take the time to watch our agency video. This presentation shows the statistics of homelessness in Stanislaus County and the children Community Housing and Shelter Services helped shelter in 2017/2018.
With your monetary donation, we can assist in ending homelessness within our community.
Stanislaus County is a county located in the Central Valley of the U.S. state of California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 514,453. Surrounding communities include, Turlock, Hughson, Ceres, Keyes, and Patterson.
